ROBERT R. DENTON
PHOTOGRAPHER
I am a junior at the University of Colorado Boulder where I study journalism, computer science and entrepreneurialism. In addition to my studies I am a managing editor for the student news website, the CU Independent, where I lead and teach nearly 25 peers in the craft of journalism and explore new forms of digital media.
I grew up just south of Denver, Colo. and attended Mountain Vista High School where I discovered my love for journalism and photography. While there, I and my peers won several national awards for both the student paper and yearbook.
After high school, I interned with Rich Clarkson & Associates, a multimedia firm based in Denver, Colo., shooting photos of the NCAA championships and the Colorado Rockies. This internship allowed me to work closely with Clarkson, a former director of photography for National Geographic.
I most recently interned as a staff photographer with The Greeley Tribune, a daily newspaper in Greeley, Colo. While there I gained an appreciation for the business of journalism and a deep understanding of the changing landscape that is digital media.
When not taking photos, I enjoy exploring code, a good breakfast or a Batman movie.
