TIFFANY EDMONDSON
I am a senior “southern belle” from Jackson State University. My concentration is broadcast production but I also study political science and Mandarin Chinese. On campus, I was the associate editor for the Blue & White Flash and Editor of the Experience Magazine.
During my sophomore year, I was hired as a production assistant for 16 WAPT News. Currently, I’m a public affairs assistant for the United States Department of Agriculture’s Research, Education, & Economics Mission Area.
Two of the greatest opportunities that I had were when I was selected to be a correspondence associate for the White House Correspondence Office and when I was selected to be an ally with Public Allies Chicago, an organization founded by First Lady Michelle Obama.
A couple of years ago, I studied Chinese language and history for two consecutive summers in Taiwan. During the school year, I mentor four students at my elementary school and I travel with JSU library to local high schools to speak to upperclassmen about going to college and becoming journalists.
I like to skate, play my recorder, and edit videos. Something that keeps me going is being able to inspire young people like people have inspired me.
