PATRICK RECORD

I am a senior at the University of Montana studying journalism with an emphasis in photography. This upcoming semester I have been selected as photo editor for the Native News Honors Project, and will be participating in the student documentary project.

Prior to attending the University of Montana, I lived in Los Angeles and worked as a cameraman and audio technician for various networks such as ESPN, The History Channel, Comedy Central and MTV. My realization that I wanted to focus on photojournalism started while working in New Orleans with the Air National Guard during the relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina.

The following year I enrolled at El Camino College in Torrance, Ca. in order to fulfill the requirements to attend the University of Montana in Missoula, Mont. – a city I had discovered while following the Lewis and Clark trail with my parents on a family vacation.

When I’m not in the classroom I photograph local sports for ESPN Montana and work at the local CBS affiliate, KPAX.

During my free time I like to stay active, playing sports, hiking or traveling.
